Generalised Anxiety Disorder 7 Item Scale (GAD-7)

💡 What is the GAD-7?
The GAD-7 is a short questionnaire that helps you and your therapist understand how much anxiety might be affecting you right now.

It looks at seven common symptoms of anxiety and asks how often you've experienced them over the past two weeks.

This includes things like:

Feeling on edge or nervous

Struggling to stop worrying

Trouble relaxing or sleeping

Feeling irritable or restless

🧠 Why is it used?
The GAD-7 helps:

Identify signs of generalised anxiety

Measure how intense or frequent those feelings are

Track changes over time during therapy

Open up conversations about what’s going on beneath the surface

It’s widely used in NHS services, therapy, and GP practices.

Certified. Responsive. Compassionate.
